My career has been excitingly varied. I've managed venues, run in-house events, headed up sales and marketing and designed countless incredible parties.

What I love about my job

The diversity of work is incredible at The AC. From Royal events to small dinners and everything in between, we are asked to be involved in some truly unique events. I have a great team of people to work with and enjoy helping to shape the AC’s future moving forward.

Why The AC?

The AC is truly unique in the industry and even after 20 years it offers me the chance to hone my skills at events on a grand scale both in the UK and internationally. I was given a fantastic opportunity to be part of a world renowned brand and to shape the strategy for the future.

Outside of work I like to ….

Search for new, exciting restaurants and revisit old favourites; I am a confirmed foodie. In a rare spare moment, I can be found walking my Battersea rescue Patterdale Terrier, Murphy or indulging in my passion for travelling with my husband, Brendan.

I was a sculpture student and chef before starting The Admirable Crichton in 1982.

What I love about my job

I love the diversity of our clients, venues and parties, as well as the overall creativity and logistics. But most of all I like being involved in the creation of fabulous food.

Why The AC?

Back in the day, there was no-one else creating really delicious, innovative food and beautiful, fun parties. We didn't fill a gap in the market because there wasn't already a market at all; it was something quite new.

Outside of work I like to ….

Spend my time in the hills of Yorkshire. Walking the dogs, skiing and pottering in the garden.

Do anything fun! I spend a lot of time with family and friends, sharing great food and wine, dancing, singing, yoga and travel and also some interior design for my home and friends too.

I was most recently the General Manager at Stationers Hall where I was running the venue and delivering events for the liveries, private clients and all the Stationers.

What I love about my job

I love the variety of my role. I am now working in some incredible venues and it's great being part of The AC team.

Why The AC

I joined because of The AC's reputation as one of the best events companies in the industry. The high quality of the events and calibre of clients and AC staff members were also a factor.

Outside of work I like to...

Walk in the Ashdown Forest with my dog Alfie and my husband. Travelling is also a large part of my life and I've already visited most continents. Our last holiday was in Australia and Bali and next on my list is South America.

Sam Mitchell

Tell us about your previous roles

I've been in the industry for quite a number of years, working for a variety of caterers, venues and event management agencies in various roles. I suppose you could say I have a lot of experience in multiple event disciplines. I'm big into event technology and enjoy creating digital products.

What I love about my job

I'm sure a lot of people say this, but it's really the flexibility and variety; the industry as a whole provides this and The AC has given me a chance to meet a wide range of challenges.

Why The AC

I was initially approached by The AC to run a special project at Opera Holland Park, a challenge I was happy to accept. Since then, I’ve had a few AC roles; run numerous event projects, managed the operations team, headed up IT and am enjoying further developing the Event Management side of the business.

Outside of work I like to...

During busy periods, spare time in the events industry can be hard to come by, but when I have time I like to sail, eat and drink in great UK restaurants and around the world.

I was an event manager in hotels, restaurants and private members clubs around London.

What I love about my job

I love doing unique private events with lots of design and luxury foods. I really enjoy winning my clients over with my ideas and expertise and negotiating a good deal for my client. But the best part is seeing the outcome of all the hard work.

Why The AC?

I came to the AC because I heard it was the best; I was right.

Outside of work I like to ….

To watch sport and chill with my wife and twin girls. I love to go out to nice places whenever I can, especially Italian and Turkish restaurants.

Tell us about your previous roles

Previously I worked in luxury hotels and exclusive clubs near my hometown of Oxford and in London. I started as Event Coordinator and was promoted through the ranks to Sales Manager.

What I love about my job

This job allows me to be more creative than in my previous roles. I love working closely with my clients and coming up with new ideas for their events and also ways to win new business.

Why The AC

I am a huge foodie, so working with creative AC chefs and design team is a dream come true and is perfect for my career development.

Outside of work I like to...

Search out and visit new restaurants. I love to travel and am often found in the mountains or in the Napa Valley where my some of my family live.This is a bonus as I am a big wine fan, and we go to lots of wine tastings. I also love art, both the masters and contemporary, so like to visit art fairs whenever I can.

Tell us about your previous roles

I’ve spent the last few years working as a waiter, barman and freelance events manager for various catering companies within the industry. The first time I worked for The AC was in 2011.

What I love about my job

I find it invigorating to come up with a solution that fixes an issue, no matter how complex. Much of my day-to-day role involves the pre-event, ‘nitty-gritty’ tasks that make a seamless party look effortless and I get great satisfaction when it all works out well. I also design our great cocktails and oversee our delicious wine list.

Why The AC

The AC is known for its fabulous events and high profile clients, so as I enjoyed working with the team so much in the past, I jumped at the chance of a more permanent position. Coming to work here is like working with your best friends – but you get paid.

Outside of work I like to...

As a born Londoner I often take for granted what an amazing city I live in, so in my free time I try to discover everything all the fascinating and exciting it has to offer, from the ancient to the brand new.

Charlie Roundell Greene

Tell us about your previous roles

I was just 22 when I arrived in London and joined the AC as a junior waiter. I took on as much work as I could, assisting on an incredible array of parties - It's what the The AC is famous for.

What I love about my job

In spring 2018, I was approached and I promptly left my accounting job and was plunged head first back into this magical realm of glittering soirées.

Why The AC

It's down to two things;' the fantastic food and the incredible people. I am proud to serve the wonderful dishes created by our chefs and often take ideas home to try on my friends and family. I love working with my AC colleagues as well as the suppliers that make our events so successful.

Outside of work I like to...

I’m very sociable and when I’m not working at a party I’m most likely throwing one of my own. Working in the industry is certainly helping me hone my cooking skills. I’m a keen runner and can often be found racing along the banks of the Thames. If not there, you may find me filling a seat in a West End theatre which I try to do as often as possible.

I started as a chef and after 14 years changed to an Events Manager. Working at The Natural History Museum I learnt pretty much all there is to know about back and front of house, so decided to use new found back of house skills and become a porter a few years ago.

What I love about my job

I like the flexibility of my role and that I am trusted to use my skills and experience to get the job done.

Why The AC

I love the spirit at The AC. We all pull together well and are a real team. We look after each other.

Outside of work I like to...

I’m a performer. A drag artist with an alter-ego of Leona Lewisham. No really, I am! I regularly perform at festivals, galas and clubs around the UK and internationally. I make all my own wigs.

I also cycle –my bike is my best friend and I am a very good uncle. I’m a family man at heart.

Tell us about your previous roles

I am originally from Brazil where I was a personal trainer. My Mum had a catering business back home and before I moved to London 15 years ago, I worked with her, so already had experience of the events world. I've worked for most London catering companies as a porter and head porter.

What I love about my job

I love that no day is the same. With so many different parties and venues I get to meet a lot of great people and be involved in amazing events. I love the atmosphere!

Why The AC

I like that we work as a family. I started with the AC in 2005 and had the chance to travel the world on AC events, portering in France, Morocco, Egypt, Italy and many more

Outside of work I like to...

I go to the gym and play poker. I work long hours, but spend as much time as I can with my partner and daughter.

I was educated firstly in Nigeria and after my initial finance degree, I am still enjoying my on-going financial training in London.

Consultant Chef

Tell us about your previous roles

I’ve had a varied and prestigious career as a chef, often working in top class London restaurants and also events companies, including being heavily involved in the opening of the highly acclaimed Bronte on The Strand. I was also Head Chef at Bluebird in Chelsea and Bank in Aldwych too.

I'm proud to have been Executive Chef at the Palais Presidentiel in Gabon, central Africa, where I worked for 5 years creating state banquets and working personally for the President and his family. For the past 2 years, I have consulted on various projects in London and around the UK.

What I love about my job

I love the variety; creating different styles of food for events and working in fantastic venues with a great team. I enjoy consultancy, particularly helping businesses grow and develop. It’s really helpful to draw on my experience often partnering clients and supplier to their mutual advantage.

Why The AC

I’ve always been a big fan of The AC. They’ve retained their luxury brand for over 30 years and are the events company to work for. When the chance came to be the Consult Exec Chef here, I snapped it up and am really enjoying the challenge and working with great people.

Outside of work I like to...

I play volleyball and am the greatest fan at my kids various sporting activities. One day, when I have the luxury of more time I plan to fix and build things – like bikes and cars.

Tell us about your previous roles

I've been a Consultant Chef for a number of other luxury events companies as well as being Private Chef to some very famous VIPs. Each year, I run an exclusive corporate VIP area for high level corporate and celebrity clients. You may also have seen me on TV –I was the joint winner of Professional MasterChef 2012 which really has given me the opportunity to do a lot of food related travel and work with some of the UK’s leading chefs.

What I love about my job

I love the variety. Every day is different and I get to cook a wide variety of food and work insome of the UK’s mostamazing venues.

Why The AC

I’m no stranger to The AC, after travelling and working in Australia The AC was my first job with a luxury event catering company many moons ago and I absolutely loved it. Then I travelled again to learn more about different cultures and their food, different food styles and new trends and have always popped back in to do lots of projects with The AC which has led me to working here on and off for just over three years.

Outside of work I like to...

I am a big 80’s fan and am proud to admit to being a Bros groupie. I go to 80 festivals and love dancing and clubbing. The AC kitchen will be filled with music every day from now on - it makes you feel great. I love to eat discover new restaurants that no-one would think of. Perhaps I’ll write an AC blog to share my inside knowledge. I also have an obsession with shoes mainly very high heels as I’m only five foot!

General Manager -Couture

Tell us about your previous roles

I have been in the events industry for the last seven years, starting in Portugal where I planned and executed events all over the country. I made a move to Dubai in May 2017 to look after the weddings and social events in a 5* hotel on the Palm Jumeirah. After gaining a huge amount of Middle Eastern experience with the hotel, I moved back into event management.

What I love about my job

The best thing about my job is the different people I get to meet on a daily basis. We work with amazing clients who are all unique in their own way. They come from different traditions, which brings a huge variety to our events, which makes every day diverse.

Why The AC

Couture Events has been in the industry since 2004. It is a very well-known brand in Dubai with an excellent reputation and we are fortunate to work with incredible clients. What I love most about both Couture and The AC are the people. Teamwork is essential in events and we have two amazing teams in both the UK and Dubai which has enriched our working client experiences.

Outside of work I like to...

Outside of work I love to be busy! I have a very active child, so I want to make the most of my spare time spending it with her to create memories. For the child-free days/nights, I enjoy spending time with my friends.

When I came to Dubai in 2007, I worked mostly in the Real Estate industry as Sales Coordinator and Office Admin before I joined Couture in 2010 as Executive Assistant to the Managing Director.

What I love about my job

This job has taught me so many things that you don’t learn from school and not even from my previous roles. It offers an extensive experience that you can apply to your personal life. Seeing happy and satisfied clients despite the stressful situations is such a reward! That’s what I love about my job!

Why The AC

When The AC bought Couture, I luckily stayed on as part of the package. With littleknowledge of what they do in the UK, I was thrilled to hear from others’ that they are really something big! Being part of a bigger brand, with a team of very supportive colleagues and management is great and I am enjoying my promotion to Operations Manager.

Outside of work I like to...

Enjoy some relaxation time. I love eating out with friends, resting at home, go for a walk or run on the beach tracks and travel when I have longer breaks.
